Agnotology - The State of Willful Ignorance

We are currently living in an America bereft of wisdom, where willful ignorance is explained away through indifference and facts are discarded if those facts run counter to our particular ideological stance. I ponder this as I instruct future educators who often enter my class at the start of the semester with implicit biases, assumptions, values, and beliefs that have been inculcated into their very being by family, friends, religious centers, and media.
